Esther turned over and opened her eyes. There was enough sunlight coming through the blinds that caused her to wake. She groaned and turned groggily back over. Then she groaned again. Today was the first day of school. She checked her watch.
Great.
She had all of half an hour to get ready, eat, and get to her first class. Unfortunately, her first class was all the way across campus. Whatever that building was called. She'd learn it sooner or later. Groaning once more for good measure, Esther rolled over again, and let herself keep rolling until she rolled out of bed.
"Oof." That was a bit farther than I thought.
Esther rubber her eyes. She glanced jealously over at her roommate, where she still lay sleeping.
Lucky her.
After getting ready, and eating a couple bowls of cereal (which was all she had time for - she would have eaten more given the chance), she grabbed her backpack and her keys and walked out the door. A minute later, she walked back in, grabbed her sweatshirt, and walked back out again.

"Well. That went well. Not." Esther muttered to herself. Shaking her head, she trudged off to her next class. During her march, she thought of the rigamarole she'd just gone through. First, after finding her way to the building (which she reached a few minutes after her class was supposed to start - she'd forgotten which building was which, and had gotten semi-lost), she went to the floor the class was supposed to be on. After wandering aimlessly down a few halls, she finally found the number she was looking for. Now 12 minutes after the hour, she peered through the little window in the door. No one was there.
What the heck? was her thought. Where on earth are they?
Unsure of what to do next, Esther stood there for a few more minutes. Frowning, she wandered down a few more halls, wondering if maybe the class was moved to another room, or if perhaps there was some strange numbering system here. No, no, no. That wasn't it. That couldn't be it. That certainly wasn't it. Frowing even more now, she went back to the room she'd first found, wondering if maybe she'd looked through the wrong door-window. She checked and re-checked the number by the door. No, she'd checked the right one. She then began to wonder if for some reason the class had been canceled. She glanced around, trying to see if there had been any signs posted. Nada.
Now what?
A second later she smacked her head. Why not check her printoff of her schedule?
Duh.
She smacked her head again when she realized that the whole time she had been looking at the wrong line on the page. Her class wasn't in this building at all. In fact, it was in the building furthest from this one, and closest to the dorms.
Well aren't you a smart one. Impressive.
With a sigh, she retraced her steps until she got to the building she was supposed to be at. Checking her watch, she sighed. It was now half an hour after she was supposed to have been in her class. After wandering down a few more hallways, on the correct floor, she finally found it. Peering through the window here, she saw the textbooks sitting out that looked like the right ones. She saw some of the students closing the books. She glanced at her watch again. Forty after. Only ten minutes left until the time that the schedule said class was supposed to end.
I don't think it's worth it. And... well... it would be rather embarassing to show up for class now.
With that, Esther stepped quietly away from the door. Kicking herselffor her stupidity, she decided the best thing she could do would be to find the right classroom for her English class, which was next. She doubled-checked her printout, before heading "next door" to the next building.

Finally, English class was done. Esther grimaced. This was not going to be a fun class, she was sure. Especially the way the teacher had looked at her after she (Esther) had asked a certain question.
Try to forget about it.
After getting to the dorms, she found her room to be unlocked, and knew her roommate must be back from her class... unless she'd not gone to one, that is. Dumping her backpack on her bed, Esther plopped, sitting, onto her bed.
"Fooooood."
Her roommate smiled.
"Sounds good. Le's go."
"Yay!" Esther smiled back. Her stomach was growling, as she'd not gotten enough breakfast, earlier.
Once at the cafeteria, they got their less-than-appetizing food, and found a place to sit.
OOC: Wow, I can't believe I just wrote that much.
Great.
