Sulah nodded at Mat before looking over at Krin. "We need to talk." She grasped Krin's wrist and added to Mat, "Excuse us... Keep an eye on things," before leading the other man out of the chamber and back into the tunnel they had come from.

A fair distance away, she stopped and sat down on the ground to face Krin. Sulah didn't speak for a moment, wondering how to phrase what she had to say. Not coming up with anything, she just came out with it bluntly. "Tell me what you were going to wait to tell me."

She held up a hand to stop him from chiming in. "Wait." Swallowing first, she went on. "A lot of things have happened these past couple of months, and, well... though, I'm not much for optimism anyway, I have a bad feeling about all of this. And I want us to clear the air, say what we need to say instead of leaving it for later."

Sulah sighed and leaned her back against the wall of the tunnel. "I'm sorry for bringing this up again today, but... like I said, things are just so different for me now." Lost in thought, she stared out towards where the shaft emptied into the bright chamber where Mat was waiting. Where Stryder and their destiny was waiting.

Something came to her, and she snapped her head back to look at Krin, leaning towards him. "What if... I think I have a plan..."

[Staranos]

<I think my ears will work better than my eyes in this room...> Mat mutters in his native language.

[Squall]

Krin smiled at her and searched her eyes as she spoke. She did indeed seem different now than she did the near year ago that they had met.

He nodded at her as she spoke of a plan.

Go on.

[Mara]

She held up a hand. "First, we need to clear some things between us."

[Squall]

Krin stared into her eyes. He knew for the sake of what must be done, he had to suppress his feelings,but things were what they were and there was not much he could do about it.

Like what?

[Mara]

Sighing, "You know what. What you continually avoid speaking to me about."

[Squall]

Krin felt cornered.He knew very well what she was talking about,but this wasn't the place to talk about such thing.He couldn't let his convictions falter.

I love you Sulah. But here, now, is not the time for such luxuries.

[Mara]

"There might not be another time." She grabbed his hand. "Whatever it is, stop dancing around it. Don't worry about his Lordship."

[Squall]

Sulah,Very soon, there may be things we each need to do in order to ensure the safty of the others. I just think it is a bad idea to get to emotional right now.... That path is a dangerous one./


Krin sighed and looked down. The months of planning and inticipating were finally comming in on him and he could feel it all over his shoulders.

[Staranos]

Were Mat out there he'd argue that keeping things bottled up was also dangerous, but he's not. He's standing in the room, half blind and waiting for the other two to finish whatever they're doing and come back in.

[Mara]

"Fine. Your choice." Sulah braced her arms on her legs to boost herself up and stormed (sort of) town the tunnel and back into the cavern where Mat was.

"Let's butcher this freak."

[Squall]

Krin follows Sulah in the lit chamber.

Well, I guess this is where our plan takes place. Mat? Would you care to release Eranhu? Or summon ,or whatever it is you do?

[Staranos]

"Uh, I believe the correct Basic is 'ask him to take over'," Mat replies. "And certainly. You might wish to shield your eyes..." He bows his head. Showtime.

His armband begins to glow, then there is the brilliant flash of light that signals that the possession has taken place. Mat/Eranhu raises his head. <I am ready for the battle.>

[Mara]

Sulah briefly turned her face away during Mat's transformation before turning to look at the two men.

"So do we keep moving or let him come to us? Is this place easily defendable?"

[Squall]

I believe this is the legacy chamber. I'm not entirly sure what to expect here.


No sooner did the words leave Krin's mouth did the door behind them slam shut with a hiss of hydrolic pressure. Krin spun around. Takeing his lightsaber in hand, he activated and swung at the door,now closed.

When blade met door a small ripple of dark blue,almost black, concentric rings radiated outward from the impact point. Krin stood back a few steps,then thrust his blade into the door. His blade stopped dead as more rings pulsated outwards along the flat plane from the impact point and continued until Krin withdrew his blade and deactivated it.


I guess we need to go forward.
