Something that caught my attention recently. They are putting these sonsors in new cars basically so you don't get too close to a vehicle or run over someone in you blind spot, etc... I think it was the Acura commercials. That's when I think technology in general is getting a bit out hand. I mean, you can make create machinery with all these "cool" features and upgrades, but one thing you can NEVER correct for is human error. It's just impossible to me, why wouldn't a person look in their blind spot before changing lanes in the first place?? I think if cars were programmed to drive themselves, there'd be a lot less accidents in the world.
Well that was my mini rant about technology. Hope you enjoyed.
This has been in my thoughts again recently because the ads have been running again.
It's this Volvo... where it beeps if someone is in your blind spot while changing lanes..... it beeps to remind you to hit the brakes if you're too close to someone....
Are we too lazy to turn our heads now before switching lanes?
And... if we're too busy trying to lean down and pick up files off the floor on the passenger side (like on the commercial)... we deserve to rear-end someone.
And the most hilarious one: it has a hearbeat sensor on the key remote to let you know if someone has broken into your car.
Um.. if this car is so technologically advanced.. how can anyone get into it in the FIRST PLACE??
To continue this, though... do you see/hear of any other crazy technological "improvements" you find to be totally useless?
