Liberty University is a public university providing a liberal arts education set in scenic New England (specifically, Connecticut). Because of this, there are a wide variety of students, smart and the not quite so smart, nerds, athletes, preps, you name it. All kinds are here.

Because it's a large public university, most students live on campus in either the dorms* or in the houses of sororities/fraternities*, if accepted. Those upperclassmen not accepted also have the choice of living in the nearby University (not affiliated with L.U.) Apartments** (L.U. students get a small discount at these apartments, as opposed to other nearby apartments).

*The dorms are coed, but each floor is made up of suites, same gender. (Suites consist of two rooms with a shared bathroom in the middle). There is also a community bathroom on the floor.

Description: Straight shoulder length black hair, hazel eyes, 5'5", pretty but not beautiful, thin but not outrageously so, small reading glasses. She is an "average Jane."

Hometown: suburb, New Jersey

Background: She's the only daughter of semi-wealthy parents, who are still together. Others might even say she has the perfect life, but Penny doesn't think so. Because she is a studious person, usually the one found in her room studying, instead of out on the town like the rest of her friends or schoolmates, she really doesn't have many friends. But just into her sophomore year, she meets more outgoing people who help her break her shell.

Background: Janine is part of a big family. She has two older brothers and one younger sister who is still in High School. Her parents belong to the middle class, so she is in between rich and poor. She is a very friendly person who loves to talk and engage in conversations. You may even find her outside talking to someone she may not really know too well, hitting it off. As far as being a student goes, Janine tries her best and strives to succeed. She is fairly smart, but definetely not as smart as a nerd.

Activities: Gymnastics team
Background: Since he was little Alex has been an acrobat in the small circus his grandfather runs. Now starting his sophomore year at the college (chosen more for its theatre and gymnastics programs than for his major). The sight of him walking on his hands or balancing on the fence around the track will be a familiar one to returning students. Yet while his easy going nature often causes others to label him a slacker, his attitude toward his major is anything but. Though not what he would have chosen himself, he considers it important, as it will enable him to better manage the circus when it eventually becomes his to run. Thought odd by most students until they learn his background (and the 'popular' crowd doesn't know what to think about him) he's gained a small measure of fame on campus, which he prefers to ignore. Also, having found himself down the hall from Penny, whom he shared a class with last year, he's become determined to help her out of her shell.

Background: The American dream come true. Erik hails from a small New Orleans hut. His parents could no more afford the cloths on their back, but erik overcame that. He finished school and is now attending Liberty U. He has been there for almost 4 years now working on his major. He petitioned to have Pi theta Epsilon established as a house and now it has become very popular.

Unfortunatly he odes have a bad habit of gambling, though, but he almost always comes out on top.

Name: Esther Leia Thomson

Age: 18 (almost 19; Dec birthday)

Description: Esther is an extraordinarily quiet girl. Everything about her is quiet. She walks quietly, talks quietly (when she does talk, that is. Usually her fingers are the ones doing the talking... online, and even then, not a whole lot, when compared with others.) Physically, she is somewhat on the tall side, being 5'9". She is very slender, although she probably could do with a little more exercise than she gets. Her medium brown hair, which falls to a few inches below her shoulder-blades, is almost always worn straight, with no embellishments. Her eyes are a kind of greenish-blue color; few people have said with certainty that they were either green or blue. Aside from her liking to chat online, Esther really enjoys drawing (whether it be by hand or on her computer; she especially likes to do it on her computer), and other related activities on her computer, reading, and puzzles. She is also a major Star Wars and Lord of the Rings freak/nerd/geek, which is obvious to anyone who walks in her room.

Background: Esther is the oldest of four, with an age range of 10 years. All of her siblings were given the names of various people from the Bible: Hannah Ruth, Sarah Elizabeth, and Jonathan David. Her family only recently moved to Idaho, as the cost of living in CA was getting beyond their range. Her familiy has always managed to get by, but money has always been an issue, nonetheless. Hating it, she wanted to get out of it as soon as possible. College was the ideal means. She wanted to go to a school in CA, but once again, the issue of money came up. She was unable to get a scholarship that would work for her there. Then, when she heard about what her best friend Katie was planning for college, she decided it would be all right if she were to go with her. Fortunately, Liberty University offered her enough scholarship money that she was able to go.

Hometown: Houma, LA (Born in Waterford, Ireland)

Background: Lived in Ireland until he was 7, then moved with his family to the US. Started early in sports, excelled the most in basketball. His height, even at an early age, gave him quite an advantage here. He led his high school team to the State Championship two years in a row. Now in college he feels almost dwarfed by his teammates, some standing near 7' tall. In his third year on the team, having taken a year between high school and college, he's finally looking at a chance to be a starter, but a lot can change before the preseason starts in the late fall. His attitude is very much that of a jock, he can be arrogant, a little short tempered (as noticed by his massive number of fouls, fouling out 3 of every 5 games he's played in) and often a little demeaning to others. However, despite this he is not you typical jock he is actually quite intelligent and has maintained a fairly high GPA during his time in college. He recently moved into an apartment with fellow teammate, Marcus Brown, after growing tired of dorm life. This is easily affordable as his basketball scholarship pays most of his tuition anyway.

BACKGROUND: Key snuck quietly in at the beginning of term and as yet has not been noticed in any official capacity. She has transferred to LU in hopes of finishing her degree and seeking graduate studies. She decided to travel halfway across the country to remove herself from a mild controversy at her old college. However she has been missing her social acitvity. Her Tomboy side allows her to easily assimilate with the boys. Key grew up in Texas and spent 2 years in a small local college in rural Texas she has a southern accent that is unusual at best since it seems to come and go when she is upset or too relaxed. She has been people watching and wondering what it might be like to throw away her Tomboyish ways and become a girlie girl... wondering if she might enjoy getting attention for being attractive... however all her attempts at this before have ended in what some might call "Fashion Disasters" and have left a discouraging mark on her memory.
