Been writing this for another board and thought I'd introduce you all to the original Kum-El that Staranos is an alternate of.

Chapter One
A rocket shot away from the doomed planet. Moments later Krypton exploded as the pressure in its core finally become too much. As the rocket raced on toward its destination, a world called Earth, three figures appeared on one of Krypton’s two moons.
<Thank you for saving us Guardian,> the man said.
<You are welcome. Remember what I have told you and your wife,> the short blue being answered.
<I will,> the man replied.
<I’m glad to hear it. Goodbye Jor-El.> And with that the Guardian of the Universe left.
The moon called Mithen, now in a new orbit from the force of the explosion, would be the new home of Jor-El and Lara.
16 Years Later
Clark was walking home from school when he saw what looked like a meteorite land in the small patch of woods at the edge of town. Curious, he ran over to see where it had landed. When he got there he stopped short.
It wasn’t a meteorite.
It was a small rocket, similar to the one that had brought Clark himself to Earth sixteen years before. As he slowly approached it a hologram activated, projecting the image of a tall black haired man. “Greetings. I am Jor-El. Inside this ship is my infant second son, Kum-El. I ask that you take care of him and raise him as your own.” The hologram shut off as Jor-El finished speaking and the hatch of the rocket opened. Inside was a boy wrapped in a blanket.
Clark couldn’t help being reminded of the story his parents had told him about how he had been found. “Hello Kum-El. I’m your big brother. Don’t worry, I’m going to bring you to my Ma and Pa.” He gently picked up the baby boy and started for home.

The child was taken in by the Kents, and passed off as their own. Their friends hadn’t known that Martha had been pregnant, but then again, they hadn’t realized she was pregnant before Clark was born either. He was named Edward Christopher, or E.C. for short. Two and a half years later a third Kryptonian, Cul-El, practically landed in their backyard and Clark and E.C. gained another brother, Randal.
As the two boys grew their abilities, the product of being adapted for a heavy gravity, thin atmosphered, world circling a red sun but raised on Earth under Sol’s yellow light, began to manifest. Clark did his best to help them learn to control their new found powers even as he refined his own. Jonathan and Martha provided the moral lessons, teaching them to use their abilities to help others instead of just themselves.
When E.C. was five the Kents adopted another boy named Mike O’Connors. A year younger than E.C., Mike had been left in the orphanage at the age of two by his parents, for reasons unknown, along with his older brother Jason, who’d already been adopted by another family. The young boy seemed happy that he and Jason had been separated. The two hadn’t gotten along well. Once he was at the farm it quickly became evident that he had powers of his own-super speed and x-ray vision. A third, somewhat odd, ability would show up several years later after his first kiss, but for now they were all blissfully unaware of that. It was also quickly discovered that, partly due to his super speed induced hyper-active metabolism, he was a bottomless pit when it came to food. He soon became close to his new family, especially E.C.
On his first night in the farmhouse Mike crept into E.C.’s room to ask him a question. “What’s it like t’have a family? I don’t remember.”
“Um…well, everybody helps out with stuff an’ helps each other an’ looks out for each other,” E.C. told him.
“Me too? You’ll all look out for me too E.C.?” the black haired boy asked.
His new brother nodded firmly. “Uh huh.” Even at the age of five E.C. had already completely absorbed the idea that family was Important.
“Promise?”
“Promise. You’re my brother now, and brothers look out for each other.”
“E.C.?”
“Yeah bro?”
“Thanks.”
